Music courses through
Jeff Glixman's veins. For more than 30 years Glixman has dedicated his life to
music. From playing keyboards in progressive rock bands in the 1970's, to
producing and engineering some of the most recognizable and listened to artists
in music history, Glixman has helped shape the sounds of popular music for
generations.
A Grammy-nominated producer and engineer, Glixman has worked with notable recording
artists such as KANSAS, THE GEORGIA SATELLITES, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS, and
LUDACRIS. Combined sales of his projects exceed 35 million units.
In addition to continuing audio and video productions, Glixman has devoted the
past decade of his career to developing, owning and operating professional
recording studios while moving into the executive aspects of running his, and
partner Jim Gentile’s entertainment enterprise, StarCity Recording Company.
Jim Gentile
An avid
musician and songwriter, Jim plays harmonica, guitar, accordion and
other instruments. A folk & roll band he formed in the 1990s, The
3 Jakes, opened for Little Feat and shared the stage with other
well-known groups, and recorded a CD called “One Take Jake. Jim was
named “Artist of the Day” and played in the All-Star Band at the
1997 Bethlehem Musikfest
His other
day jobs: owner and president of North Star Construction Management
and Polaris Properties. He is general partner or owner of various
other commercial properties in the Mid-Atlantic region, including a
medical campus, an assisted living community and several industrial
parks. He is co-author of The
Bit Ching Advisor, a radical
application of ancient Eastern philosophy to contemporary Western
culture. He has also worked as an inventor, and holds several patents
for alternative power sources, including the lithium MnO2
battery.
Phil Ehart
Phil Ehart heads up the Artist
Development department of the StarCity Label. His 35 years of experience in the
music business makes him a natural mentor to artists of all genres. Jeff Glixman said, “Phil has been my close friend and business partner on
various projects since our school days. I could not be more pleased with
having him with us at SRC.”
Phil is the founder and drummer for
the classic rock band KANSAS. He has also managed KANSAS for the last 21 years.
Lily Salinas
Born and raised in Peru, Liliana Salinas knew
from an early age that she wanted to work in the entertainment field.
Graduating Rutgers University while only 20 years old, she was hired as a
production assistant by Producer Jeff Glixman to handle the assets for surround
sound mix projects he was involved with for Universal Music Group. Moving
into the capacity of executive assistant and then to studio manager and project
coordinator, Lily has gained invaluable experience and expertise over the past
ten years. She is the point person for Jim, Phil, Zak and Jeff,
distributing their responsibilities while handling the day to day operations of
SRC.
Zak Rizvi
Zak Rizvi began his career in the music industry at just nine years old when he picked up his first guitar. He eventually would go on to master the bass, keyboards, and drums. He started recording his own work, uncovering a talent for engineering, which other musicians soon recognized. Realizing he needed to hone his abilities, Rizvi opened The Den, a studio in Whippany, New Jersey, where he was owner and chief engineer for twenty years. His final project at The Den was on Heernt's Locked in a Basement CD, which was mastered at StarCity and released worldwide. Rizvi currently plays in the progressive rock band 4Front.
